My 30 Days on Lean in 15 - The Shift Plan

When it comes to health and fitness, shifting those last few stubborn pregnancy pounds has to be at the

top of my wish list. Don’t get me wrong, whilst I am immensely proud of my body for growing and

nurturing my precious miracle bundles, there is still a part of me that yearns for a better post-baby bod.

It seems that since the advent of social media, now more than ever I am bombarded by images of

perfect Instagram Mums with their perfect toned bodies. Okay, deep down I know that most of these

images have all probably been tweaked or put through a number of very impressive filters courtesy of

the latest software App, but I too still secretly long to have one.


So, when I came across the Joe Wicks plan, promising a toned healthier body by eating more food

and spending less time in the gym, I had to do a double take. Joe, aka ‘The Body Coach’, has amassed

quite a following since his first ever ‘Leanin15’ Instagram video in 2014, for his refreshing outlook to

fitness and healthy eating. He boasts that in just 5 years he has helped over 100,000 people transform

their lives with his health and nutrition guides.



Having spent the last two years trying every diet, fad and exercise regime out there in an attempt to

shift that last bit of ‘mummy tummy’, I wondered if this could be the answer I’d had been looking for.

After reading Joe’s first installment ‘Lean in 15 The Shift Plan’ from cover to cover, and seeing the before

and after photos from a number of satisfied and VERY toned looking clients that adorn the back pages of

the book, I was excited to see if this plan could work for me.


The Shift Plan is 30 days long and works on the premise of combining HIIT (High Intensity Interval

Training) workouts several times a week, with teaching you how to fuel your body with the right foods

at the right time, in order to burn fat, build lean muscle and keep you satiated.



So how did I get on?

The workouts were relatively simple to master even if you don’t have a fancy gym membership, and as

most took me only 15 minutes, I found them easy to fit into my day whilst my baby napped.

I have to say I was also very impressed with the meals on this plan, the portions are generous and

relatively easy to cook for a busy mum of two. The recipes were packed with fresh nutritious

ingredients, so I really felt like I was nourishing my body with every meal. In fact, they were so delicious

that, even my toddlers and husband loved them! Although the book is entitled ‘Lean in 15’ not every

recipe was ready in as little as 15 minutes and whilst Joe does clearly mark these in his book, I’d

definitely still advise batch cooking these recipes in advance.


Would I recommend this plan?

The is one of the easiest and most enjoyable health and fitness plans I have ever undertaken and I can’t

sing its praises enough. My body has, as promised, transformed in only 30 days, in fact I’m so impressed

with the results that I’ve been inspired to continue with the Joe Wicks ‘Lean in 15’ series and take on

phase 2 ‘The Shape Plan’. Whilst I’m pleased with the changes I can see in the mirror and I’m brimming

with more energy, the main bonus for me is how this plan has changed the way I feel about myself. I am

stronger, fitter and more confident in my body.


With Joe’s help, I’m learning to eat well and love the skin I’m in.
